LP1 Session 2: a success
Tuesday, November 18th, 2008This past rainy weekend found us hard at work in the Long Island studio cutting more basic tracks. That means Sean and Mike grind away at the rhythm whilst the rest of us set to task crushing innumerable beers and posing with Ron Robinson Jr’s impressive arsenal of microphones. (left) With Ron at the helm we sailed through four more tracks, each taut with energy and glistening with studio magic. We came away much closer to our goal and the realization of the record as a whole. Its going to be a monster.

Introducing Pas De Deux…For Free.
Thursday, November 6th, 2008
Somewhere in between recording our new album and adjusting our Fantasy Football rosters, we squeaked out a little thing called Pas De Deux - a collection of unreleased songs that we want you all to hear, but won’t be on the album. We figured…what better way to keep you all occupied until our release party?
So we took Pas De Deux and packaged it up with our critically acclaimed EP, The White Balloon (check out our band page for some of the critics’ quotes) and put it up on our website for you all to download, for free. Just goto this page, and its all yours. Nine songs in total, topping out at somewhere around 30 or 40 minutes.
Send the link to all your friends!
Enjoy.
The Tentative Titles
Thursday, November 6th, 2008What do you do when you have hundreds of songs in your archives that are not being heard? You post them on your blog.
This track is from our days in Philadelphia. Josh and our crony, John Clay, were headed over to my mother house to pick me up for a little joy riding. Knowing that their trip took roughly 30 minutes, I ran to my basement to lay down a quick track. Upon realizing that I was without most of my instruments I decided to see what I could with the gear I had (Taylor 12 string, Fender bass, microphone).
Soaked in reverb and harmony, the song is capable of being both pleasant, and, dare I say, strange. Enjoy.
CMJ Recap
Wednesday, October 29th, 2008CMJ is over.
We had a great time. A very special thanks to everyone that came out to our Fearless TV showcase last Tuesday at Arlene’s Grocery with Semi Precious Weapons, Black Taxi, The Dig, Tunnels to Holland, Second Dan, and PEEPHOLE. Hope you are all still rocking those rad shades we gave out.
After our showcase ended, we used the rest of the week to relax and also catch some other great bands’ shows. Some highlights include Oxford Collapse (some girl got her tooth accidentally knocked out by the bassist at this show), Pela (amazing live performance), Eagle Seagull, The Virgins (contrary to what we had heard, these guys are actually really good live), sBACH (strangely interesting instrumental rock, great show), among others. We also met some really cool people and made some new friends. All in all, a terrific week. We’re very much looking forward to SXSW and next year’s CMJ.
The funniest story of the week award goes to Mark, who tried to attend an Online Marketing panel but mistakenly ended up in the Current State of Reggae panel instead.
If anyone would like a pair of shades (we have some extras), feel free to leave a comment on this post and we will get in touch with you about sending you a pair.
