Canon Logic playing at a Washington Square Park near you.

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

If you happen to be around the beautiful Washington Square Park sometime between 12 and 2pm, on any given day, you  might just catch a few members of The Canon Logic strumming the old banjo down by the fountain where the food vendor sits (code people, come on!). Come by, grab a free sticker, pick up a t-shirt, or purchase a ticket for the upcoming Bowery Ballroom show.

In related news, Sean hopped over a flock of geese, and we have a few new shows posted on our myspace, including a killer lineup with Liam and Me in PHILLY!

The Canon Logic at Bowery F’in Ballroom

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Greetings from TCLHQ (thats The Canon Logic Headquarters). We have some exciting news, hot off the press, fresh for the eyes, ears, and fingers of all you Twitterin’ fools out there.

We’re done recording our album. Yes, I know that you think I am lying. And that we’ve been saying we’re close for so long now. But it’s true: we’re finally done.

Yup, we finished tracking all instruments, vocals, and random noises last weekend, and we’re ready to celebrate. And what better way to celebrate than to play a gigantic, blowout show at a venue several of us have been hoping to play at for the better part of our lives? So here it is:

Thursday, August 13th, 2009 at sometime in the evening, we’ll be sharing the stage with our good friends Lights Resolve at the Bowery Ballroom. We’ll be playing classic TCL hits and new cuts from our upcoming album. We’d love it if you could come.

You can get tickets directly from us, right now, right here on this very website. They’re $13. We’ll mail them to you directly, or if you live close enough to one of us, we’ll deliver them personally. And we’ll throw in a TCL sticker for every ticket you purchase.

What’s that you say? You’re under 21 and can’t get into a place like the Bowery? Have no fear. The show is for persons of age 16 and older! We don’t know exactly what time we go on yet, but it will probably be around 8pm or 9pm. We will keep you posted. Get ‘yer tickets here:

Hope to see you all there!!

PS – If you want to see us sooner than that, you can also come check us out at Rebel, this Thursday, July 9th at 8pm. Should also be a very fun show.

New shows and more

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

As the recording process comes to an end, we are excited to announce some new dates at some even newer venues (to us anyhow).

On July 9th we will be playing the opening night at REBEL (251 W 30th St, New York City)

The show is 18+ and sure to be a wet and wild time. Thats right, for those of you who have been to our shows before, you should know what wet means, and for those of you who have not, well uh, bring a poncho. I kid.

We also recently booked a show with our favorite pseudo rocking hip hop menaces known to all as PANTS VELOUR. Che! Che! Che! This show will take place at the Blender Theater (127 E 23rd st, New York City)

A few of us saw Spoon last year at Blender Theater and from what I can hazily remember, it was an amazing show and a sick venue. (Damn you free Sparks night!)

As you can see below, we are not the only act that requires Ponchos. For a free ticket to the show, can anyone guess who is performing on stage? I will give you a hint, it is not necessarily a musician…

This is a little more like what it might look like when you see us there…

Check out our myspace for specific show times and future dates.

One final note, we will be streaming a live acoustic show, from our blog, at an undisclosed location, during one of the upcoming weeks. So be on the lookout and check back daily for more updates on that. Good day everyone.

Personality Crisis Tonight

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Come out to Crash Mansion tonight (199 Bowery st.) for a raging, fairly new event, known by its chaos inducing name: Personality Crisis. Let your hair down, throw back some shots, and don’t forget to dance your (too tight to put on) hipster pants off. We are headlining around 11pm and playing with some great bands including; Le Rug and SHAPES. For those of you who hate that most NYC venues cater to the old heads, never fear, for Crash Mansion welcomes all humans and dancers above and equal to the age of 18. So come and forget about life for a little while, enjoy some of our new (soon to be released) and old tunes, and hit peaks so high that you won’t remember most of the night (for if you did, your head would explode).

Ps. Doesn’t the above picture of Crash Mansion look purty? “Go towards the light, one tasty lick at a time”

Sounds Like Friday the 13th

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

So, we’ve been really busy lately. We’ve been recording our album non-stop, and we’re getting close to being finished. Because of the hectic recording schedule, we haven’t really had a chance to stop and smell the petunias… And by that, I mean play rock and roll music live, for an audience.

Until now. This Friday, February 13th, we’ll be playing at Southpaw for the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Sounds Like Brooklyn festival. Aside from the usual treats, we’ll be unleashing the fury of several brand new tracks (which will likely have a place on our forthcoming album) that we can’t wait to play for you all. The show officially starts at 9pm, but we go on around 11:30 or so. And, its 18+, so you can bring all of your college buddies and not worry about them getting their fakes taken by security.

Official lineup:

Ro Agents
Holly Miranda (of the Jealous Girlfriends)
Motel Motel
The Canon Logic

If you want to RSVP to our official Facebook invite, click here.

Hope to see you all there!

TCL Showcase Recommended by CMJ Staff

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Someone informed us about this today. Apparently, right before CMJ hit on Tuesday, their staff recommended our showcase on their official staff blog. Check it out.

Sullivan Hall Recap

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Last night, we played a show at one of our favorite venues, Sullivan Hall. As usual, it was a swell time. In front of a completely packed room of 100 plus, we rocked through a 40 minute set of classics before getting cut off by the sound guy. The rabid crowd demanded “one more song”, and sound guy granted it, giving us a chance to kick a few folks in the teeth with our favorite closer, The Fabulist.

Afterwards, we did a quick interview for Brooklyn Mike, a nice gentleman who runs a great Brooklyn blog entitled Brooklyn Rocks. We’ll post a link here when it goes live.

Next up is our CMJ showcase on October 21st with Semi Precious Weapons. After that…hibernation (album production). And after that…global domination? We can only hope.

This Monday: Rock Battle NYC at Webster Hall

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

So here is what happened. We randomly entered an MTV2 contest a few weeks ago to open for Panic at the Disco at the Prudential Center. Ironically, MTV chose us as one of the top 5 bands in New York City, and we’re now in the finals.

They take place this upcoming Monday, 9/29 at Webster Hall in New York City. The show will be hosted by Kim Stolz and feature a celebrity judging panel consisting of Chris Carrabba (of Dashboard Confessional) along with two memebers of Panic. It will be filmed and air on MTV2 within the next few weeks.

As is the case with most Battles, crowd support is essential so we would be thrilled if you guys could come and cheer us on. In fact, we have a handy little hyperlink that will let you get tickets for $2:

Hope to see you all there, let us know if you have any questions!

NOTE: DOORS OPEN AT 7PM, BUT ADMISSION IS NOT GUARANTEED AFTER 7:45.
