We played a rendition of George Harrison’s ‘My Sweet Lord’ (I think it was during last year’s Advent Calendar); the song is a classic, and it’s a fun tune to play and sing.  Today, I was blown away when I was listening to the Chiffons (of ‘One Fine Day’ fame), and I heard their gem, ‘He’s So Fine’ (below)…the songs are nearly identical.  Has anyone noticed this before?  Are they getting some Harrison cash?  

Tomorrow we join forces with The Press for one of Liberated Matter’s last Cross-Pollinations at Pianos.  If you missed our previous Cross-Pol with Jay Mankind, here’s how it works:  We play the first set, The Press plays the second set, then for the third we collide like protons at CERN to unleash a black hole of rock (and possibly undo the universe or something.)

Thanks to our good friends Michelle and Ryan of MRI, we were able to get some sick light painting shots at the last roof party. The concept is brilliant, it is really the future of, a new twist on, the old photo booths at parties, weddings, and bar-mitzvahs that everyone has seen before. I love what they are doing. They are available for hire at your next party, rave, or anything else you could think of. It’s like magic in front of your eyes.

Playing in Richmond tonight at Capital Ale House, for all you Virginians.

Most of us saw these guys at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, our off night, from tour. It was without a doubt the best show that I have seen since Radiohead at Bonnaroo. I lucked out, my brother and I had the crappiest seats in the entire place, perhaps there were 30 people who had worst seats, and because of this it forced us to sneak down to the lower level and walk around. After roaming for the first Arcade Fire song we found two open seats and since the owners of the seats never came back we ended up with sick seats for the entire show. Classic example of turning a wrong in to a right.

Genius as they are, Arcade Fire decided to stream the entire second show on Youtube the following night and there are clips from it here.

These guys are on top of the world right now, it blows my mind how intense their show was, like they were literally untouchable. If you haven’t heard it yet, their new album The Suburbs is quite amazing and I think it sells on amazon for only $3.99.

We also do a cover of their song “Tunnels,” you can find a few versions on youtube.
