Saturday, February 21st, 2009The short week is over and it’s off to another weekend of recording for The Canon Logic. Watching this recording process has got me analyzing the music I listen to on a whole new level. I don’t often think about the details of how a song was built or layered yet the work that goes into a three and a half minute song is often equated to hundreds of hours. But that’s what makes a good musician or a good band isn’t it?…The ability to craft a song so that we the fans hear the complete product, not the just the individual sounds or decisions that have been made along the way. It’s been fun to watch the guys focus in on the details in crafting a certain sound; the sound they want us to hear. It’s a lot like listening to anything by T-Pain (although perfect pitch is certainly an advantage).
