They’re called Beady Eye and they’re in the studio working on an album. Apparently Liam could not get the rights to continue using the Oasis name since the brothers Gallagher split last year. Former bandmates Gem Archer and Andy Bell are on board. Being a diehard fan, I’m not expecting much, but am excited nonetheless.
According to NME.com, Liam is developing a film about the final years of The Beatles based on Richard DeLello’s book ‘The Longest Cocktail Party: An Insider’s Diary Of The Beatles, Their Million Dollar Apple Empire And Its Wild Rise And Fall.’
I love the Beatles. I love Oasis. Oasis loves the Beatles. This news should probably fill me with excitement. So why the trepidation? Anyone who loves Oasis is all too familiar with Liam’s petulant streak and penchant for sabotage. Its the kind of stuff that makes Oasis so fun after all these years, even after the split. But who knows, maybe he’ll pull it off. I’ll do my best to remain cautiously optimistic.
